Hey - I know this one - it is jewelweed - a relative of commercial impatiens. The sap from this weed is EXCELLENT at getting rid of poison ivy - Burt's Bees has a soap with lots of this in it. We have it by the river in Indiana as well - and I miss it.
My first memories of this plant is near the water on the island where I grew up. It was a favorite of mine then and now.

Wow, now I know. I thought it might be Jewelweed and I wanted to make a tincture of it but I was never sure.
